CTA Settlement
Overview PDF Print E-mail
  • This settlement resolves a lawsuit over whether Clifton Telecard Alliance and Cleartel Canada (3901807 Canada Inc.) (collectively referred to in this notice as "CTA") Calling Cards adequately informed consumers about the applicable rates and charges for its prepaid and rechargeable calling cards. The two sides disagree on whether CTA did anything wrong. The settlement will provide up to $500,000 of Refund Personal Identification Numbers (“Refund PINs”) that consumers can use to make free domestic phone calls and free calls to certain international locations. If you purchased an eligible CTA Calling Card in the United States, including certain calling cards that do not have the CTA name on them, that was sold, serviced, or distributed by CTA at any time between January 1, 1997 and Oct 29th, 2009, you are a Class Member and are eligible to make a claim and obtain a Refund PIN(s). Please check the list of eligible cards carefully. If you are eligible, you may claim these benefits, as provided for in the Settlement, or you may have excluded yourself from the Settlement or objected.
